Château Lafleur

The estate has been in the same family since 1872. Although technically sold in 1915, it remained in the family through marriage. The current owners, Jacques and Sylvie Guinaudeau have been involved in the management of the estate since 1985.  They assumed full control in 2001 after inheriting the estate from Jacques aunt, Marie.

The Vineyard is planted with 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc and the average age of the vines is 40 years.

The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels; one third to half of which is replaced every vintage.

The second wine is Les Pensées de Lafleur wihich was first produced in 1987. The grapes for this wine must still be deemed to be of a suitable quality as any that are felt to fall short of the mark are sold off in bulk.
